Weissbierpils
Also Known As: WeiPi
Weissbierpils is a new brew that is a blend of the wheat-based Weissbier (ale) and the barley-based Pilsner (lager). The blending occurs during fermentation at a ratio of 53% Weissbier and 47% Pils.
Classification: Vollbier
Alcohol Content: 5.2%
Region: Primarily in Bavaria (Bayern) and Baden-Württemberg
Beer Characteristics
Initially fruity and spicy like a Weissbier, then dry in the finish like a Pilsner.
History
The Weissbierpils was created by Brewmaster Hubert Brandl in 2005 in Bavaria.
