Frankfurter im Schlafrock   (Frankfurters in Puff-Pastry)

14 oz. (400g) frozen puff-pastry
8 (4 pairs) frankfurters
4 slices Emmentaler or Swiss cheese
Sweet paprika
2 cloves garlic
4 teaspoons mustard
1 teaspoon oil
2 eggs (slightly beaten)

1. Defrost the puff-pastry according to the package directions.

2. Cut the frankfurters in half length-wise. Stuff with cheese and season with paprika.

3. Roll out the puff-pastry to a thickness of 1/8th inch. Cut the puff-pastry into rectangular pieces that are slightly shorter than the frankfurters.

4. Finely chop the garlic then mix into the mustard. Brush each frankfurter with mustard-garlic mixture.

5. Brush the edges of the puff-pastry square with egg. Place each frankfurter onto a puff-pastry square and roll-up. The ends of the frankfurter should be exposed on each side of the puff-pastry square.

6. Brush a baking sheet with oil, then place each frankfurter puff=pastry onto the baking sheet. Bake for 15 - 20 minutes at 400 degrees (F). Puff-pastry should become golden brown.
