Who We Are ... The German Food Guide Team
We are a group of individuals who share a love for German food. We include a native born German, a first-generation American who grew up with German food and traditions, someone who has lived in Germany, and someone who went to college in Germany. In addition to our personal experiences with German foods, we have spent the past few years researching German food for this Web site. We have visited German delicatessens, bakeries, and restaurants. We have purchased many traditional German foods. We have all tried and tested many, many German foods and recipes.
Our goal with this Web site is to introduce (or reintroduce) you to German food. Our focus is to reveal to you how wonderful, hearty, healthy, and delicious the German cuisine is. Throughout this Web site, we provide you with valuable information on hundreds of foods and dishes of the German cuisine - including where to buy it, how to cook it, and what to serve with it. We also sometimes dive into German history and tradition to get an appreciation of where a dish originated and its importance in the cuisine.
What good is it, though, to learn all about German foods, but then not know where to buy it? That is why we have included a directory of German delicatessens, bakeries, restaurants, and food markets. Although our directory is constantly growing, we hope to connect you with the German foods that are available in your area and throughout the U.S.
So, we wish you "Guten Appetit" (a good appetite) as you browse through this Web site. And, when you find the German delicatessens, bakeries, and restaurants in our directory that are in your area, we would appreciate it if you would tell them that you found them in the German Food Guide! Thank you!
