Weisswurst - An Oktoberfest Tradition
Weisswurst is a sausage that is almost white in color. It is made from veal and pork, and it is most often seasoned with bacon, onions, parsley, salt, pepper, and lemon-powder. Its texture is smooth and slightly pasty.
Pair the Weisswurst with Pretzels, and sweet Bavarian mustard and you have the perfect Oktoberfest Trio. These are readily available at most German delicatessens and German food stores. If you're planning your own Oktoberfest pary, be sure to calculate 2 Weisswurst and 2 pretzels for each guest.
Check out our "Oktoberfest" pages to learn more about the specialties of Oktoberfest.
